Just made it

Well, its deadline day tomorrow over at the Bah! Humbug! challenge. It has come around so quickly, I almost didn't make it. This week's challenge is to use stencils and since I don't often use them, it was a big challenge for me. I eventually remembered a crown stencil I had picked up at the local garden centre. It was the only thing I had that was remotely festive, so it had to do. Here is my finished offerring.

Crown stencil by 'My Paper World' coloured in with an embossing pen and then embossed with gold embossing powder, though it doesn't look gold in the photo.

The card is coloured using Tim Holtz distress inks in Spiced Marmalade, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain.

The image is layered onto gold mirri card and then placed onto linen cardstock which has the edges distressed with vintage photo DI.

I'm really getting into the vintage look at the moment so I'm off to make some more flowers for a tag I'm working on.

  1. Hi Gina - I never thought of using a stencil this way (duh!) - it looks really impressive and the distress inks have added a lovely glow to draw the eyes in. Love it.

  4. Lovely blending of the DIs Gina and clever use of the stencil too. I never thought of using it like this either so I must remember that for the future.
